In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Directly opposite the main station — Santa Maria Novella train station is across the street, and the bus station is in the same square. Several guests highlight this as ideal for early trains and day trips in Tuscany.
  • Walkable to the historic centre — The Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, and shopping areas are within about 10–15 minutes on foot, per guest comments.
  • Friendly and helpful reception staff — Guests repeatedly describe the front desk as welcoming, accommodating, and full of good tips — even offering upgrades or after-checkout bag storage.
  • Breakfast included — Multiple reviews note the included breakfast, with some praising the variety and quantity (though coffee drew one complaint).

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Ongoing renovation work — Some guests mention construction during their stay. Staff appear to manage it well — one reviewer was upgraded to a renovated room — but it can be noticeable.
  • Some rooms are compact — At least one guest found the shower small, and the Small Double Room is, by name, a tighter option.
  • Soundproofing can be an issue — One reviewer noted walls that weren't soundproof, while another said train noise wasn't a problem — expect some variation between rooms.
  • Paid parking only — Parking is available but at an extra cost. There's public parking nearby, but it's not free or on-site in the traditional sense.

“A small place with genuinely friendly front-desk staff. The location was excellent — a brief stroll to the cathedral, city centre, bus station, and downtown.”

8.6Verified guest

“Being right opposite the train station and in the same square as the bus station made travel to and from Rome and Florence very easy. Breakfast was included.”

8.6Verified guest

“Very close to the station, the bedroom was a good size, and the internet worked fine.”

8.6Verified guest

“Great value and location, with friendly staff. The hotel sits opposite the bus station and just across from the station. Reception was prompt and welcoming, and the room was newly renovated, spacious, and opened onto the garden. Breakfast was included, which was a bonus. Everything was fine.”

8.6Verified guest

“The location next to the station was so convenient, and most sights were within walking distance. The front desk was staffed around the clock by three excellent guys who were very helpful with travel tips. Initially we had a room on the third floor, but when we mentioned the ongoing construction, we were upgraded to a renovated ground-floor room with heated floors, a shower with body sprays, and a colour-changing illuminated ceiling at no extra charge. Free Wi-Fi and breakfast were nice extras. Overall, a great three-star facility.”

8.6Verified guest

“The accommodation was fairly clean, with fantastic, wonderful reception staff. The location was unbeatable — close to the stations for early trains and the centre with all the main attractions and shopping. The restaurants nearby were great, like Caffe il Cerino, about 10 minutes away.”
